According to Wikipedia, a blockbuster film is defined as “a high-budget production aimed at mass markets, with associated merchandising, on which the financial fortunes of film studio or distributor depended” but we know how accurate Wikipedia is.
This is how a blockbuster is defined as; the film will need to meet at least 2 of the definition below:
• A film with A-Listers and/or Director
• With all the big names in the film, naturally there will be a larger production budget because their pay would have taken up a portion of the budget.
• Part of a successful film franchise. Think Star Wars, Fast & Furious, Hunger Games and all your other favourite sequels.
• Opening date in Singapore to be similar with USA (Hollywood titles) or Hong Kong / China (Mandarin titles)
